Usually, the Slider lure is caught with a jerking retrieve. Jerks with the spinning rod must be very energetic and fast. It is desirable to make several test casts in clear water before starting fishing to see the Slider‘s reaction to spinning rod actions. It is important not to slacken the line after each jerk to maintain constant contact with the lure sliding from side to side, which also prevents line tangling with the front hook.

Slider is amazingly good for trolling in shallow water. You need to release it 10–30 m behind the boat and make jerks with the spinning rod every few seconds, exactly the same as with a regular jerking retrieve.
